Hello, so, this is @milagoularte and 

@alicekanarek from @isf_brazilSC.

We are veeery happy to represent this little corner of Brazil wich is reconized from the islands (Florionopolis), natural resorts, mountains, and from being one of thefew places in the whole country that actially snows on low weather. I met the foundation thanks to  Ian Somerhalder, and me @milagoularte decided to take part of itin 17-05-11 , and didn't regret a moment. In November, I met @alicekanarek that is also a huge fan of Ian Somerhalder, and a animal lover, so, we decided to team up and spread the word....Now, December 8 , our lider ,president, teacher, is singing Happy Birthday, and we, and i mean more than 100 countries are also teaming up to sing together!Ian, last year the foundation was your wish, and it realized, and thanks to you,that had this briliant idea, all is working out and problems are being resolved.This year, your wish is more donations, and we are hre to say that you deserve a lot morethan just donations for the foundation. Ian Joseph Somerhalder was born in Convigton - Louisiana is the son of Edna and the massage therapist  a contractor works Robert Somerhalder, he has two brothers, Robyn, a radio journalist and Robert (Bob), a former cyclist professional. Ian's parents divorced when he was 13 years old. He grew up with her mother, she raised him with Oriental medicine and organic foods.

 At 10 years Ian began his career as a model, encouraged by his mother 

took him to New York every summer. Yet left in the background modeling 

and devoted himself more to the sport where he studied at a Catholic school. Some years later when the opportunity arose to go to Europe and get on with her modeling career, embarked on hard work, traveled and studied in cities like Paris, Milan and London.

A mega usina de Belo Monte iria cavar um buraco maior que o Canal do Panamá no coração da Amazônia, alagando uma área imensa de floresta e expulsando milhares de indígenas da região. As empresas que irão lucrar com a barragem estão tentando atropelar as leis ambientais para começar as obras em poucas semanas. 

A mudança de Presidência do IBAMA poderá abrir caminho para a concessão da licença – ou, se nós nos manifestarmos urgentemente, poderá marcar uma virada nesta história. Abelardo Bayma Azevedo, que renunciou à Presidência do IBAMA, não é a primeira renúncia causada pela pressão para construir Belo Monte. Seu antecessor, Roberto Messias, também renunciou pelo mesmo motivo ano passado, e a própria Marina Silva também renunciou ao Ministério do Meio Ambiente por desafiar Belo Monte. 

A Eletronorte, empresa que mais irá lucrar com Belo Monte, está demandando que o IBAMA libere a licença ambiental para começar as obras mesmo com o projeto apresentando graves irregularidades. Porém, em uma democracia, os interesses financeiros não podem passar por cima das proteções ambientais legais – ao menos não sem comprarem uma briga. 

A hidrelétrica iria inundar pelo menos 400.000 hectares da floresta, impactar centenas de quilômetros do Rio Xingu e expulsar mais de 40.000 pessoas, incluindo comunidades indígenas de várias etnias que dependem do Xingu para sua sobrevivência. O projeto de R$30 bilhões é tão economicamente arriscado que o governo precisou usar fundos de pensão e financiamento público para pagar a maior parte do investimento. Apesar de ser a terceira maior hidrelétrica do mundo, ela seria a menos produtiva, gerando apenas 10% da sua capacidade no período da seca, de julho a outubro. 

Os defensores da barragem justificam o projeto dizendo que ele irá suprir as demandas de energia do Brasil. Porém, uma fonte de energia muito maior, mais ecológica e barata está disponível: a eficiência energética. Um estudo do WWF demonstra que somente a eficiência poderia economizar o equivalente a 14 Belo Montes até 2020. Todos se beneficiariam de um planejamento genuinamente verde, ao invés de poucas empresas e empreiteiras. Porém, são as empreiteiras que contratam lobistas e tem força política – a não ser claro, que um número suficiente de nós da sociedade, nos dispormos a erguer nossas vozes e nos mobilizar. 

A construção de Belo Monte pode começar ainda em fevereiro.O Ministro das Minas e Energia, Edson Lobão, diz que a próxima licença será aprovada em breve, portanto temos pouco tempo para parar Belo Monte antes que as escavadeiras comecem a trabalhar. Vulcano in Chile Spreads Ash Clouds to Brazil

Today I seriously wondered why there was such a thick cloud around every where I put my feet on, but, without any drops of rain. Now I know what poluation can cause a very strange climate change ... Check this out!

The Puyehue volcano in southern Chile, began spewing lava, 18 days after the beginning of its eruption, although with no risk. The ash cloud emanating from the mass causes the suspension of commercial flights in the southern cities of the country. Approved law allowing torture of animals!

Hiii guys,I miss posting on this blog *_* Well,today I don't have any news,or curiosities,BUT I sure have some ideas on my mind,wich will only help if #ISFamily team up with me,Who's in?

So this is the DEAL...

I work in a huge supermarket,it has one on a lot of points of Santa Catarina,and some off states too,each one has about 150 at least,and the most,probally,more than 300 workers,without counting our clients.SO think with me,if all these people have a project,to preserve,imagine the impact it will do in Brazil?And I have enough corage to try and make it happen talking with the big boss lol.

There is one big point in all of this though,since we ARE a family,at least,I hope so, I need PROJECTS,all kind of things,plastic projects,recycling paper projects,meat projects,Styrofoam projects (wich we use a lot)...

I'm gonna put it all in a big project's ,those kind of school types,with pictures,examples,list's....

and of course,the name of everyone that helped me out.

29/mar/2004 - 12h56 - Cientistas americanos, especializados em análise e previsão de fenômenos severos não tem mais dúvidas e afirmam que o ciclone extratropical Catarina, que atingiu a Região Sul do país era de fato um furacão categoria 1, na escala Saffir-Simpson, que mede a intensidade dos ventos dos furacões. Isso faz de Catarina o primeiro furacão extratropical conhecido e também o primeiro a atingir o Brasil.

29/mar/2004 - 07h20 - O ciclone extratropical Catarina, que atingiu a região sul do país neste domingo, o fez com a intensidade de um furacão. Segundo autoridades locais, sua passagem deixou pelo menos 3 mortos e 100 mil casas destruídas.

A cidade de Torres está em estado de emergência. A população faz filas para receber telhas, distribuidas pela Defesa Civil. Mais de 20 mil casas foram destruidas.

As imagens mostradas na televisão impressionam até especialistas. Segundo cientistas do Centro Nacional de Furacões (NHC) em Miami, pelas imagens exibidas Catarina deve ter atingido a costa com ventos de 170 km/h. Moradores do local, muito assustados, afirmavam que o que viram não vão esquecer tão cedo.

Segundo a GloboNews, a Defesa Civil de Torres havia proposto a evacuação da cidade, mas o ministro Ciro Gomes, da Integração Nacional, não autorizou, dizendo que os ventos seriam mais fracos que o previsto. Não foram.

Ciclone Catarina se dissipa e deixa rastro de destruição 

28-mar-2004 - 23h15 O Ciclone extratropical Catarina, que atingiu a região sul do país neste domingo já está dissipado. 

Durante sua passagem, Catarina matou duas pessoas e danificou mais de 30 mil casas.

Ao longo da madrugada, ventos de até 150 km/h atingiram a divisa entre os Estados de Santa Catarina e Rio Grande do Sul, desde Laguna, SC até Torres, RS. Quarenta municípios catarinenses foram atingidos. Os mais castigados são Maracajá, Turvo, Meleiro, Araranguá, Arroio do Silva, Sombrio, Imbé do Sul e Ermo. O ciclone também passou pelo município de São Joaquim, na região do planalto serrano, onde causou problemas.

A cidade catarinense de Criciúma foi uma das mais atingidas. Conforme informações do JB Online, cerca de 1.2 mil pessoas ficaram desalojadas. A Defesa Civil está com dificuldade para abrigá-las. Mais de 100 casas foram destelhadas e 20 caíram. Em toda a região 20 mil residências foram atingidas. A rede elétrica teve 250 transformadores destruídos e mil postes derrubados pela ventania. A energia está sendo restabelecida aos poucos.

Catarina causa 2 mortes e muitos estragos 

28-mar-2004 - 09h15 O ciclone extratropical Catarina começou a perder forças, mas causou grandes estragos em Santa Catarina, onde duas pessoas morreram e várias ficaram desabrigadas no Estado. Sete pescadores estão desaparecidos.

Segundo informou a Defesa Civil, em Torres, no RS, uma criança morreu devido ao desabamento de uma casa. Na BR 101 o ciclone causou a morte de um homem que estava dentro de um carro quando foi atingido por uma árvore.

A BR 101 está interditada entre Sombrio e Criciúma. A situação é crítica entre Araranguá e Criciúma. A Defesa Civil pede para que os motoristas evitem utilizar a estrada.

Quatro barcos, com cerca de sete tripulantes cada estão à deriva de 5 a 10 km da costa de Arroio do Sal. A Defesa Civil do estado de SC confirmou que um deles virou.

Segundo a Globo News, 200 casas estão destelhadas ou completamente destruídas em Araranguá, SC. Os municípios mais atingidos são Arroio do Silva Araranguá e Sombrio.

Segundo a Epagri/Climerh, Catarina começa a perder forças, mas alertam que ainda deve causar ventos fortes e chuvas em todo o litoral e planalto sul catarinenses e também no nordeste do Rio Grande do Sul.

O ciclone que se formou na altura da costa sul brasileira atingiu na magrugada de hoje o sul de Santa Catarina e o norte do Rio Grande do Sul. De acordo com informações da Globonews, ao longo da madrugada ventos de até 150 km/h atingiram a divisa de SC e RS, desde Laguna (SC) até Torres (RS).

O ciclone extratropical 1-T Alfa, chamado de "Catarina", é classificado pelo NHC (Centro Nacional de Furacões, EUA) como um furacão categoria 1 (com ventos entre 120 e 150 km/h), mas a classificação mudou devido à temperatura no centro da tormenta. As ondas provocadas por Catarina atingiram picos de até cinco metros de altura em alto-mar.

Conforme noticiou a RBS-TV, ventos com até 90 km/h atingiram a região do Cabo de Santa Marta no início da noite do sábado. Nas praias do sul, o ventos atingiram velocidade máxima de 50 km/h com rajadas de até 75 km/h, com ondas de até 3 metros de altura.

Catarina deve perder gradualmente intensidade durante as próximas horas, mas é necessário constante acompanhamento devido ao potencial de mudanças e principalmente por se tratar de primeira ocorrência desse fenômeno no Atlântico Sul.

Classificar Catarina de furacão ou tempestade extratropical pode ser praticamente impossível. “Estamos ainda debatendo se é ou não um furacão, mas de acordo com nossas estimativas, com certeza é”, disse Wally Barnes, meteorologista do Instituto Nacional de Furacões dos Estados Unidos, com sede em Miami.

Formação é inédita 

O aparente furacão categoria 1 se formou a cerca de 442 km da costa sul do Brasil, surpreendendo meteorologistas – que nunca viram a ocorrência de tal fenômeno na região. Imagens de satélite mostram uma grande espiral, aproximadamente do tamanho do Uruguai perto do litoral de Santa Catarina.

Tanto Chiesa quanto Barnes confirmaram o espanto com a descoberta da tempestade que, caso seja declarada de fato um furacão, representará um fato inédito no Atlântico Sul desde que o monitoramento climático por satélite começou nos anos de 1960.

“Temos uma divergência total de estimativas sobre o fenômeno porque é uma coisa que nunca vimos antes. É totalmente histórico nesse sentido. Os brasileiros nunca tiveram essa experiência”, disse Barnes.

No Parque Mãe Bonifácia, local onde os manifestantes se concentraram para ir até o Centro de Eventos, até o destino, foram barrados pela Polícia Militar e lá fizeram um ato para chamar atenção das autoridades convidadas do Congresso. “O movimento tem um apontamento nas questões ambientais e a nossa principal bandeira, hoje, é não aceitar essa ações que vêm sendo postas no Código Florestal, principalmente nas alterações do texto”, destacou Lúcio Teixeira, um dos coordenadores do Movimento Contra O Código Florestal. 

Segundo ele, o movimento tem feito debates na capital para que a população fique a par do assunto. “Esse é o nosso terceiro ato público em relação ao Código. A gente já fez três seminários, onde chamamos a classe política para debater, entre eles, senadores, e infelizmente apenas um senador apareceu. Então, a nossa intenção nesses atos públicos é manter um diálogo com os senadores”, complementou.

Entre os manifestantes, participaram os estudantes dos cursos de Biologia, Medicina, Engenharia Florestal, Ciências Sociais e outros, da UFMT. “Esse Congresso é super elitista, pelo preço de R$ 400,00, mesmo sendo para estudante. Acho que tem uma intenção na ideia deles de barrar financeiramente. A gente sabe que esse Código não vai trazer benefício nenhum para a população, só para uma minoria elitista, como sempre. Por isso, não vamos ficar quietos até barrar esse Código”, salientou a acadêmica de medicina da UFMT, Paula Caroline Werlang.

Já um dos representantes do MST, que veio do município de Araputanga (371 km de Cuiabá), onde trabalha no cultivo de milho e outras plantações, disse que estava ali para pedir apoio às autoridades. Há muita falta de esclarecimento sobre o assunto. “Nós trabalhamos no campo e sabemos das dificuldades com as degradações dos rios, que dificultam nosso plantio”, comentou Ramiro Silva.

Durante o evento, que contou com várias lideranças políticas estaduais e nacionais, a senadora Kátia Abreu (DEM-TO) (foto) e presidente da Confederação da Agricultura e Pecuária do Brasil (CNA) disse que é necessário que a população discuta, conheça e faça questionamentos sobre o meio ambiente.

“Não se pode pôr em risco práticas de degradações no campo. Estamos aqui para dividir o debate com pesquisadores e as lideranças envolvidas no assunto e que nos orientem qual o melhor caminho do desenvolvimento sustentável para o país”, ressaltou a parlamentar.

Belo Monte

Preocupado com o projeto de instalação da Usina Hidrelétrica de Belo Monte, localizada na região do Rio Xingu no Pará, pelo governo federal, o pesquisador indigenista Fábio Pinheiro (na foto de mãos postas), foi ousado ao pedir ao representante do Instituto Brasileiro do Meio Ambiente e dos Recursos Naturais Renováveis (Ibama), Curt Trennepohl, que, ao chegar na entrada do evento  que ouviu a solicitação  para não  aprovar o Código Florestal. 

“É que, com o Código deve haver diminuição das matas ciliares, além de interromper a vida dos peixes e desabrigar comunidades indígenas que habituam o local. Só para ter uma ideia, lá vivem 18 etnias indígenas. Pode provocar desmatamento, pois o rio Xingu é uma das maiores bacias do país que sustentam vidas”, destacou Pinheiro.
